Optional Third Row

Wondering if a stow-able or removable third row seat is being considered?Maybe even a rear facing jump seat. The option for the additional seating capacity would be great, even if that third row is only suitable for children.

Please please please, have a 3rd row option. This will be a deal breaker for many people.

It’s been implied they are leaving room for a larger model-travelall that will be 3-row with easy size up. If you look at the size of the traveler compared to other 3 rows it’s actually on the small side and 3rd row would be nearly useless. While my wife and I have owned numerous 3-rows and nearly never used them I’d have to say the 3-row in this particular vehicle is a bad idea. Very few people have requested it and SM has implied the bench seat option picks up the spare seat most people need like one or two times a year.
We currently have a Honda pilot. very Xmas we picked up my parents so I agreed to crawl in the third row. I’m 5’-11” and couldn’t even sit facing front and interior dimension-wise I think the Traveller is a few inches shorter.

The demo model used during the reveal is the right size. A third row would stretch out the wheelbase longer and likely impact the harvester generator. 2 row works for me.

Great for bikes but imagine getting a solid enough seat anchor would be a risk /liability

The traveler is a few inches shorter than a Honda pilot. Having one I can say the third row in pilot is virtually useless even for a 12 year old so being even shorter would make third row nearly useless. I think knowing a travelall as a larger vehicle will follow is the better way to approach a third row

100% agree.

It's also 4in smaller than the Toyota Highlander, which does have a 3rd row. But that third row has 28in of legroom. The Nissan Pathfinder is ~7 in longer than the Traveler, but also has 28in of legroom in that third row. The Tesla Model Y had 26.5in of legroom in the third row, and is 3in shorter than the Traveler.

But, uh, none of these are known for their spacious third rows. In fact, the Model Y's optional third row, is uh, laughably small.

The upside, is that the Traveler is quite wide. It's 2-3in wider than those, which means that the bench seat middle rows will be quite a bit more comfortable. Especially if it can pull off a "tardis" sort of situation (some vehicles manage to somehow be large on the outside, and small on the inside, I'd like the reverse of that).

When this goes into production I'll be ready to upgrade from my Land Rover Defender. Three row is essential for me! I can make 7 passenger work but 8 passenger is ideal and would be class leading for an EV! Currently large families do not have an EV option! Make it 8 passengers and I'll be driving one of these in Fort Wayne... home of the original Scout!

As of now there isn’t an intent to offer a third row-it would be VERY tight. That said, there’s been multiple hints that the next model in line up may be a 3-row-and likely go by the Travelall name

And I’m completely the opposite. Don’t want a 3rd row in the slightest. I swear is like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears trying to find the car that’s just right and Scout just has to do their best to make a quality vehicle that appeals to a wide variety of drivers.

The Traveler fits six people with a bench seat in front. If you have more than four children, perhaps you should be looking at a different vehicle?

I’d say hold out a few years and presume a travelall will be shortly behind the launch vehicles

I concur. Travelall should be coming next after the Traveler and Terra.
