New Scout Trucks To Be Revealed October 24, 2024

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Reserved... Closer to what I hoped for than I honestly had any exceptions. It missed on a few small counts, but those "might" be addressed. I have no desire for the cabana top - and honestly, will drop the reservation if it is not able to delete that option. Wish it would have been 1" taller - but that might be adjustable in the future, and honestly is not a deal killer. Range extender - really wishing there were more details on it. I reserved without because I fear the unknown. But if more information on it comes out, I could easily see myself wanting to change to it. Information missing is the decrease in EV only range, price, and if the extender can maintian the battery at highway speed (or if it needs to be turned on well in advance to charge the battery through it's entire range).

Price. Ok, that was a bit depressing, but probably realistic. No indication what the range extender might add to the cost. No indication if base price is with a full sized battery. The range extender might be the most popular option, or not - depending on how it works, and what it costs (both in terms of EV range and $$$). But in all fairness, the last 3 vehicles I purchased have been in this price range (abet 1 was discounted below it).

Missing - perhaps non-negotiables. No mention of driving assist features. Crossing fingers and hoping.

Range extender apparently is smaller battery and an onboard gas generator.

I reserved the Traveler + Harvester, I would have been fine with electric only but why not get the extra feature, I feel like that will be super handy.

The trade-offs are likely another sub-system that can break and lack of additional storage. A range extender has to take away some storage I'm guessing. Not sure if there will be battery differences with or without the range extender option and how those two systems might interact yet.

He indicated that harvester would have a smaller battery, but I didn’t get the impression that it would be a lot smaller.

I reserved an EV Traveler.

I think the styling is good, but have to admit to being very disappointed with the solid rear axle. That's going to be a big step down in day-to-day and road-tripping comfort in exchange for a small step up in rock crawling performance. Not a good trade for me, and not for most folks I think.

Is the Traveler really going to be 92" wide? That is 15" wider than my flex and, from what I looked up, only 4-16" smaller than standard parking spaces. I am not huge but I don't think I can open the door and get out in that little space. Have to use the off-road function to find a place to park!

Yikes! It’ll have to come standard with a “wide load” banner. No fun.

They said in the announcement that the range extender makes for a smaller battery since it'll occupy battery space.

I think the real question is if they included the side view mirrors in the measurement. My F250 is 106" with the mirrors (not sure if that is with the mirrors extended or contracted - but folded is 96. The Raptor is is 96" with mirrors. 92" with mirrors is livable. I will admit, I do not love driving my F250 in cities - but that is probably more to do with the length. My old F150 was fine 99% of the time in the city. It was a little narrower, and a bit less long (not to mention shorter).
