New Scout To Be Revealed On October 24, 2024

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
In the blog post interviewing the design team one of the designers said they are making “a blank canvas” to which all sorts of extras and customizations could be added.

I’m hoping the “blank canvas” starts at a very low price so most people can get in on it. If there are lots of extra options or models to choose from the average selling price could be much higher. I think this would be a smart pricing strategy from a business perspective.
Yes, I saw that as a recognition that scout owners may want a wide variety of customization, including third party/after market stuff. It seems encouraging. In terms of options, my ideal would be something like Porsche, were you primarily choose specific options rather than bundles and trim levels, but that may be too much to hope for at a reasonable cost.

How will the info on the livestream be sent out? Will there be an email a couple hours beforehand with a link straight to the livestream? I thought at one point it was said the website will be updated to show it on the front page. I might be wrong about that though. Just want to make sure I'm able to watch it all at 5:30 EDT and don't fumble the ball missing the first half hour lol.

Don't like the headlights, everything else looks OK.
yeah I'm a little sad about the headlights. I miss the personality of the old Scout headlights. But it will probably grow on me. I figured that would be the hardest element to get just right (personality wise)

I didn't catch if the truck had rear leaf springs and the SUV coil springs?

I hope the skid pates will be available in black too. The side steps on the truck are a good idea but should be body color.

How much more $ is the Range extender version?
It's not announced, but there was an article that speculated that the range extender version might have a smaller battery (like 150 mile range) and therefore might be cheaper or the same as the battery only since they'd add the cost of the generator, but reduce the cost of the battery. a hybrid with 150 miles of pure electric would let me do 90% of my miles on electric, but still have huge range for long trips.
