Frunk Seat Doubles As A Load Wall

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

My idea is to design the slide out seat in the frunk double as a retaining wall to prevent stuff from falling out when you open the frunk. This would be achieved by lifting up the slide out seat when it is fully extended allowing it to slide out further and be able to pivot upward and drop into a small indent channel at the top front of the frunk essentially creating a wall to hold back any items in the frunk. Simply pull up and from indent and flip back down forward and slide back in. This feature will kick the competition in the butt!

I like this idea! But wouldn’t a tight mesh cargo net with hooks work as well and then lid could stay in place and offer some flexibility? I do like idea of some kind of “front wall” though as I’m sure stuff is gonna slide around in that front.
Also hoping there are some mounting/organizing options as well for people who want to carry a lot of tools or various gear they use regularly

I too thought of a net. But that just means more junk to carry around. Incorporating the seat into the retainer eliminates extra stuff. Whenever I buy a new suv I always take off all of the nets and roller cartridges and put them in the basement on a shelf. All they do is get in the way of normal daily use. Then they all gather dust in storage. Wana Cayenne S. roller cover for cheap! (Slightly dusty).

I do the exact same but I like this setup because at reveal it was said the lower area will likely be set up as anice cooler and just like knowing I can fill lower nine with storage hold items then lid it and still put daily use on top of it
Seeing the Scout styles Mille panel in back of frunk-they should have that sit in front as you suggested with lid-IMHO but from either point of view-having a removable front wall/guard/screen/net is a solid idea

In the case where you want to maintain the slide out lid as a lid to keep the lower cooler covered then how about a double lid where one could stay covering the cooler and another one can pull out and up to make that wall retainer. Can you tell I really don't want groceries spilling out the front when i open the frunk. Maybe a slide up one that sits flush when not used and can still pull up and drop into a notch on the sides. Just no net! I hate those things.
