Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
They are probably making a wide range of CGI photos like these and swapping colors so you can see how they look with reflections, how it looks in natural lighting Vs indoors etc. It think this would greatly help a lot of reservers make a choice on the color they want. They could even use Unreal Engine 5 to have with where you a move the car around and view it in full 360 degree.
even a web application thats sent to reservation holder to look at the possible colors on Terra Or Traveler. Since they are probably using unreal engine for the software.

We already use Unreal Engine (and others) for renders, and we have a power wall at our design center where we can display the vehicles full-size in any environment we like, day or night.

Our color, materials, finish (CMF) team has a full IH CT399 color sample book (thanks to John Glancy) and has been experimenting with a variety of modern takes on retro colors. Nothing to announce yet, but we will definitely have some show and tell in the future.

Are the colors that the scum of the earth are showing ScoutEVForum “most reliable source for scout” lmfao. Are they even close to the real colors being worked on? Because they seem way far off.

Thank you Jamie! Super pumped to hear about the colors when y’all are ready.

Easy now. No need to give them a hard time. :)

One or two may be similar to some we have been looking at, but honestly, there must be at least a hundred different spray panels collecting at this point. Even a shade of silver or gold, for example, might require more than 20 different small spray-out variations on metal panels that can be viewed in different light to see how they look.

I'll get our CMF team to start a topic about this as the behind the scenes is interesting and fun to talk about.

That would be great! Also I agree with @THil08 on the 20 sprays!

A new topic for paint discussion will be great. Can't wait.

Please clarify what “modern take on retro colors” means. It sounds like NOT original colors. If so, fine, but I don’t understand the point of having similar to retro colors instead of actual retro colors. Modern paint formulation/ clear coat, sure but why change the color?

Probably adding some metallic to them. Flat colors are for some reason not a thing anymore which is a bit dumb since they are easy to fix if scratched since you don’t have to blend the metallic, and i only know this because i had a nasty scratch on my hood and i had to match the metallic.

I would hope Scout has a mix of Flat and Metallic colors

Does SM use On-set virtual production (OSVP) for rendering and background images?

We haven't yet.

Retro colors in modern formulations. Some with metallic where the single stage paints didn't often have them. You'll see.

Retro colors without the rust?
Rust will be a premium add-on. :D

I feel so bad for jamie. We ram him with questions about literally anything and everything.

It's all good.
