Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
And yet another Kia design that takes the best of everyone else’s design elements and repackages them. Bench seat, wheels pushed to corners and boxy-ish design. Guess they are trying to capture the markets SM won’t be selling in

Given the current EV battery technology in use today, I harbor a concern about V2X that the repetitive cycling of charging and discharging will only exacerbate battery degradation.
That’s a valid concern and I expect that’s one of the things they’ll be evaluating. There are a lot of unknowns, hence the value of trials. Remember, there’s a big difference between cycling 0 to 100% vs 30 to 70%, or how fast the charging/discharging happens, or the temp the battery hits, &c, in terms of how it ages the battery, it’s not just a fixed number of cycles.

Even if it was a partnership between Scout and Carvana i wouldn’t buy. Ive heard to many horror stories about buying from and with carvana.
Not gonna argue as I’ve heard things but gotta be better than a VW dealership and the more online approach to sales and delivery. If nothing else maybe a delivery deal could be worked out and they get like 1% or something?

How is this stuff patentable? It looks like a typical roof top tent and a trailer made from a chopped pickup truck.
Hmm… let me think why its patentable and how Stellantis is paying for it, and why they are making it?

One, they can’t sell fast enough to have fresh inventory, so cutting up old gladiator beds and making trailers is cheap.

Second, the USPTO is being nice to them so Stellantis doesn’t go anymore bankrupt.

Third, Jeep has lost their touch of being the ultimate offroader, they are 30 years behind the competition. Rivian looks like more of an offroader than Jeep. Soon Jeep will be gone from Stellantis closing their brands and Scout will rule the market. So Jeep is getting into accessories to try to become profitable again.

Ideas for Scout Motors or the aftermarket???

They look good but...can we remove the water marks and the link to their forum lol.

Likely since Jamie has posted about 200 media files..

Including this last one

They are probably making a wide range of CGI photos like these and swapping colors so you can see how they look with reflections, how it looks in natural lighting Vs indoors etc. It think this would greatly help a lot of reservers make a choice on the color they want. They could even use Unreal Engine 5 to have with where you a move the car around and view it in full 360 degree.
