The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
My guess is that they look like how the concepts do and people aren’t paying attention to them, because they blend into the world.
My guess is they are fully covered. Nothing better than 20 rolls of psychedelic wrapping paper wrapped around a moving vehicle to get the attention of a vehicle enthusiast and risk wrecking your own car 🤣

If you’re not testing in states where you will not find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy like Massachusetts, you’re not testing correctly. I’m available and as I am a disabled woman and am sure you’re an equal opportunity employer, feel free to throw whatever names you have for this state that are not mine into the trash. ✨😁✨ I can drive quite well or what I think is quite recklessly that is actually quite safely and boring.

A great place to also test is anywhere in NJ, with our raising car crash rates, and high speed and skill of driving on highways and any roads for that matter. And that are salted to the point you step out and your lips are as dry as the salt flats in Nevada. One hour on our salted roads is like 10+ years of driving on any-other states roads in the winter.

If you need a driver I'm in!!

But you don’t have Amish buggies to dodge. I won’t go into specifics but I’ve got one on my body count-so-to-speak. Old Amish men are not patient men-don’t let the movies or Amish mafia convince you otherwise!

Will bring this lump to South Carolina for Traveler tow testing. Our Touareg 770/7700 lb towing loves pulling it.

Or… I can take Scout from Canada to Guatemala if you want some true Border to Border Expedition level overland testing. Been there and done that!

Dig this integrated design as long as the emitter pods and drivers can be replaced and serviced. Don’t want to hate the otherwise good rack because 1 of the emitter modules starts flickering or fails.
As I recall researching the Federal regs on lights there was some mention of some state regulations (maybe Calif.) which severely limits the number of forward facing lights. Worth a check?

I too like the concept and design, and agree they can be useful, but I hope they will be disabled at highway speeds. I see too many pickups with their deer-jacking lights running toward me with eye-blinding high mounted lights. Opthalmologists tell us that recovery from a blinding flash takes about 5 seconds. At 60mph, that is about 140 yards = 1.4 football fields that you're driving blind. P.S. it gets worse with age.

Agreed, 100%

I checked the NY, CA, and WA regulations this morning. It looks to me that those lights up there run close to unacceptable, based on number of headlights, and height. The vendors of light bars and such certainly acknowledge the problem by clearly labelling their packaging "for off-road use only." And as suggested in my original message, many purchasers either cannot read or have very feeble memories.

So what you’re saying is don’t be an a-hole and run all your lights unless truly off road?

Since they are not in the 22"-54" height range for driving lights I'm assuming those are high intensity intended for off road use, I like them for that. So I'm interested in your design of the hoods required for those lights by California Law. https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?lawCode=VEH&sectionNum=24411.
