Scout Security System?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Will a security system, a-la Tesla’s Sentry Mode and Rivian’s Gear Guard be available? Make it an option, and I believe that it will be popular.

ONE of the (many) reasons that I walked away from my Lucid deposit was their lack of the availability of such a system in a "premium" vehicle.

With all of the cameras that are used in today's vehicles, this should be feasible.

I thought of about something that would be a big question on this sort of feature.
If you can watch the video feed online, or save the videos on the cloud, will there be a monthly subscription to use the feature?

That could be a feature that people would pay extra for. My sister has a home security camera that stores her security video to the cloud for which she pays a monthly subscription.

However, there would still be the need for some onboard data storage. If nothing else, it would be necessary as a cache for those times when the vehicle is out of range of WiFi or whatever cell provider that the Scout company chooses. I would be happy if the video and telemetry (?!?) data could be downloaded via the UI to a USB device plugged into one of the USB ports.

I agree and will add to include a dashcam feature while driving. I don't understand why Tesla is the only company that has this.
Toyota also offers this. When I go pretend car shopping and build cars that I don’t plan on buying, I add it as a feature. They offer it as something dealer installed in the rear-view mirror or as a non-Toyota-brand thing.

“Save to iCloud / Google Drive / DropBox / Our subscription service because you are not technically savvy” w/data cache? 🤔
Bluetooth prob. fine for file transfer... I’d imagine you’re not sharing state secrets/classified videos or something. USB would probably be faster. Idk 🤷‍♀️

This. I’d really like to see this feature. So many benefits. It’s a waste to have these wonderful cameras go to sleep. Let’s put em to work!
