Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Trump to shut down all 8,000 EV charging ports at federal govt buildings

...According to a March 2024 update, the GSA had ordered over 58,000 EVs and begun installing more than 25,000 charging ports, adding to the 8,000 already in use across the government. An interactive map showing the location of all GSA-owned chargers has been taken offline as of February this year. (An older version is available through the Wayback Machine.) The GSA will also begin offloading the EVs it purchased...

I’m very happy about this as I only live about 20 minutes from the plant in Normal and it’s great for our local economy. I keep telling my husband maybe if Rivian get a big enough we will get a Trader Joe’s in town!
It’s always a possibility. That it will happen.

I wish i could join that group, but NJ is filled with Trader Joes i won’t say what i call it. And Whole Foods. At least the upper half of NJ. The lower half of NJ is pretty much big stores like shoprite. I would add central jersey but its too Much to write. So i just split it into two halfs.

Some Cybertruck Owners Say Their Trucks Are Shedding Body Panels; One Thinks He Knows Why

A Tesla owner who wraps the vehicles for a living has come up with a hypothesis as to why his truck lost a piece of its bodywork at speed.

"...the trim piece that flew off of his truck is connected to a plastic frame bolted directly to the car; that trim piece, he says, is stuck to the frame with adhesive..."

Bad idea from the get go. Poor design and way too much $$$

exact possible reason why scoutmotors is going the Ford Model T and IH Scout Screws and Bolts. Imagine driving on a highway and you see your chuck of stainless steel fly of and go trough someones windshield and decapitates them. Scary shit.

Stellantis released a lot more Ramcharger detail today, some of this might be similar for Harvester:

It has a ~92KWh battery, but only about 70 KWh's is available for EV range. Some is reserved for battery life, some is reserved for Hybrid operation when the battery is low and gas engine is running.

Surprisingly they have more power in the front than rear, I would have expected the other way around.

Watching it now :).

Also, it does have a few good few tidbits in there.

Scott confirmed that the harvester would be capable of "steady state" travel at 70mph using the generator. That alone is a pretty big piece of news.
My only hang up-because haters gonna hate but that little battery whaling away drove me nuts. It’s like Jay wants to push it to 70mph 🤣

It sounded like a sequential gear box whining, but it’s probably because it’s geared for high torque and low speed. But yet that comment section was brutal of hate.

There are already a bunch of Leno comments here, including one from Jamie. It might be a better place to continue the discussion.
