Crumble Zones and Crash Tests.

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What do we think it will be rated in the crash test?

How many airbags do we think will be in it?

    How many crumple zones?

My thinking is that we will see a 4.5-5 star crash rating. With a 8-10 airbag system. And we will see 2 crumples zones one in the rear and one in front with and or w/o the Harvester.

What does everyone else think? I’m only bringing it up since we all know that Test mules are on their way or at least that’s what Jamie said in one of the threads(not throwing you under the bus) so these specs will obviously be revealed at some point.

I hope they make something that’s basically a stunt car built to withstand anything. I would be delighted to walk away alive and barely injured other than some airbag burns and a few bruises/whiplash from getting hit by a drunk and rolling over a few times.

The worst accident I’ve been in, knock on wood, was getting T-boned by a chemical truck while ai was on my way to pick up my ex-husband for lunch on a really nice fall day. I had the window down and was singing along with something on the radio when this dude decided that the stop sign at the end of the street he was on wasn’t for him and plowed into my car. I was crossing an intersection that had a green light near the Harvard campus. My worst injury was a getting a piece of safety glass in my finger when I reached over to get my license/registration for the cops and also freaked the F out for about 30 minutes and could. Not. Stop. Crying. 🤣🤣🤣 I think being scared and embarrassed and having the embarrassment feeding back into the shock of suddenly having a giant truck bash in the side of my car was the worst part. It didn’t quite total the car, but came damn near close and we replaced it anyway.

I know EVs are like road tanks since the center of gravity being so low. So roll overs are rare. I have a feeling it will be as good as Rivian or TESLA in the tests.

Ive was T boned when i was a kid leaving school not fun. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

I hope it’s as safe as a stunt car too. Just not at stunt car prices those things are expensive.

I think it’s too early to speculate but my logic says it will be very similar to Rivian. I hope by the time it goes to market the sailboat/catamaran style front airbags Acura uses will be beyond copyright and trademark so something similar can be used in the Scouts. The article notes other manufacturers will be able to get from the manufacturer

Thats cool that honda/acura is allowing others car manufacturers to buy it and use it.

Or maybe Scout is patenting their own airbag systems like what Rivian did.

But like what you said its still is a bit early to speculate on it.
