Cool opportunity for the Scout community...

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Hi All,

For the reveal of the new Scout trucks, we want to celebrate the Scout community and fans throughout the years. We have a unique opportunity to be part of this history and have your photos featured as part of the event. If you’d like to participate, we’re looking to collect photos and/or video footage of Scout owners with their Scouts.
  • Can include any Scout model
  • Should include people with their Scouts
  • Examples include family photos taken in front of their Scout; action photos—out on the trail, hauling, wheelin’, hunting, camping, etc.; working on your Scout—changing oil, installing new wheels or accessories, documenting your restoration projects; and Scout meetups and shows.
  • Scouts don’t have to be car-show clean, the dirtier, the better. Scout used as they were intended.
  • Pet friend's portraits are welcome.
  • Photo scans or cell phone photos of old photos are fine too.

Please pass the word!

Thanks,

Jamie

THE TIME FRAME TO SUBMIT HAS CLOSED. THANKS TO ALL WHO SUBMITTED PHOTOS!

Thanks Jamie, I found a few Scout photos and a few action shots with the Travelall too in case the agency decides to hint at some broader things during the montages. I will see if I have 1-2 photos from back in the day as well.

How cool! I was going through some old photo books from my parents when they bought their 78 Scout II (which is mine now) and submitted some old pics.

Wish I had better pictures, but I do have a cool story.

Short version: My truck has brought 3 generations home and seen 2 off to college. PO told me the story of how he bought it and his grew up in the truck, but his kids didn't want it for school (in San Jose, CA). The gentleman he bought it from (registration still in the glove box) bought it new when he had his first child and took his kids to college in it. I bought and drove cross country to be welcomed by a very pregnant wife. It has welcomed 2 new kids into the world and I spent many weekends doing FB market place and craigslist buys for kid stuff with it.

Both my girls keep asking when we can go for a ride, so its getting more urgent to get some work done so we can get some miles in it. Currently drivability issue with incorrect carburetor has led me to get serious about the fuel injection kit waiting to go in (PO started but couldn't figure out). Truck has essentially been parked and unused for last 4-5 years which is making me sad, but cannot pay $130 a week for gas to commute in it. Fingers crossed the EFI will help cure part of that.

Going to upload a couple to dropbox, but couldn't resist a few here.

Here is PO and I after signing title and exchanging money (BofA parking lot.

A couple departed riders - we miss them both. Also they loved the ride when dad took the truck out.

Anyone who has one of these trucks understands the struggle with accurate gauges. That's why I love this one.

How will we know if our photos will be used?

I wasn't able to get digging through old photos, have to find where they'd even be at.

I still plan on posting them on my account once I find them! I'd say if anyone coming back through reads these posts they should do the same. I know I'd love to see everyone's Scouts and hear their stories.
