Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger's Production Timeline Leapfrogs the EV

The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger plug-in hybrid will now go on sale before the electric Ram 1500 REV.
Ram says it made the change due to waning demand for EV pickup trucks as well as higher interest from customers in the PHEV.
The Ramcharger will be available to order in the first half of next year; that was originally the REV's timeline, but now it's slated to go on sale in 2026.

The only good part is that Scout will still be the only one to utilize the technology that the Harvester will bring I believe, beside that Nissan E-power but I think it’s not exactly how the Harvester will work. But I might be wrong.

But if I remember correctly the Ramcharger can boost the amount of power the Electric motors give by generator if more electricity and sending to the wheels.

Wow, swapping the production timelines for the two vehicles… This actually seems to be a solid strategy and I’m watching the situation closely as it is a somewhat similar formula to the Harvester as I understand it. The Ramcharger’s proposed 690 mile top end range estimate is nothing to sneeze at. It’s also pretty crazy the retired Ram CEO is back. Good stuff, thanks for sharing.

Dodge and Ram are not EV Brands. That’s not what their customer base is. The new Dodge Charger is an overpriced mess. I think with Tim back at the helm, he saw what was going on. Lots of rumors of Hellcat’s coming back, as well as a new gas powered V-8. The Ram Ramcharger really is where they need to start, not full EV.
Well said!

I agree. As far as the new Charger is concerned…the reviews I’ve seen thus far range from “who was this built for?” to “what is this mess?”. Yikes. 😬

The EREV should have always been first, as it's a more unique and flexible option for the market. There are already BEV pickups from Rivian, Tesla, Ford and GM, so a RAM EV 1500 was never going to stand out, like the EREV version can.

What is unique about the Scout?

Idk about a undersized generation. It will probably be around 95-100hp is my guess and it will either be a boxer or a inline.

So about 75KW, Which may be a bit weak for towing, that's where the more powerful RAM 130 KW generator will have a significant advantage.

Time will tell. The Harvester Generator power is pretty much the most critical piece of unknown information IMO.

I couldn’t agree more with this entire statement.

I've wondered if it could be something like the 1.0 3 cyl engine VW use for the Up! in Europe that could be used as the Harvester engine.
I was unaware of this engine. I thought their 1.0L 3 cylinder was a turbo. I don’t know anything about this VW Up you mentioned, but with a quick search it does in fact appear to have a base NA engine with the turbo being optional. Interesting. I wonder how compact it is and how the dimensions compare to a boxer.
