Season for Charity & Giving Back

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Tis the season for charity.....

So I would suggest that we all consider following Scout Motors lead for the holidays...

One of the charitable endeavors for Scout Motors is Harvest Hope

I love when companies support charities, everyone I’ve worked for has always done multiple efforts annually. So kudos to SM for their efforts. That said I don’t like when companies use those occasions to self promote themselves. Charity support should be about people, not advertising. It would be better IMO if SM would drop a link on the site just listing charities they support to show they did/do it.
My wife and I donate to numerous charities every year but we don’t jump on Facebook to pat ourselves on the back. Not sure where you found the video, so I’m glad to know they are asking/allowing employees (and hopefully giving them paid time) to participate but just a heading on the site would be more appealing to me.
Supporting charities is a humbling gesture/experience to help others less fortunate and I personally feel any social media should be very minimal and humbling.

I agree with @J Alynn. I’d further argue that all year is the season for charity per the good book and all that’s different about the month of December is visibility. Charities like food banks especially need the help all year long, not just when it looks or feels good or when there’s a flood. For some people, the emergency doesn’t come with natural disaster: one bad day is all it takes to end up with food insecurity.

Hopefully, the people at Scout are in the latter camp and do this with some kind of regular frequency and actually mean it.

Edit: I am so sorry that I sound like a jerk here: my dad died at Christmas last year, it has not been merry. 😖

Same. Don’t get me wrong… I don’t mean to come off as a grumpy turd who cynically dumps on good work. 😑 Uh… consider making a recurring monthly donation, if not to these guys, then perhaps to someone in your community bye Merry Christmas I suck. 🤐
