Combination center console and bench seat for 5/6...

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Ok, so this has sort of been mentioned as a comment in a different suggestion thread, and I sent the comment directly to Scout, but I wanted to see what kind of interest there is from others to try to drum up support, so here goes...

So, I have a reservation for the Traveler (below), and I love the proposed features, particularly the aesthetic, the gas extender (that allows more range without an extra gas drivetrain), and the OPEN roof. (I currently own a Rivian R1T, so I would be willing to replace it with the Traveler.) I also love the functionality of the 6-person seating option. With that said, for many of us, the 6th person won't be an everyday thing. Can I please suggest / request that the middle bench seat be a combination seat and center console like they used to make? I think that would go over well. This could work with the Terra and Harvester.

Something like a better-designed, more attractive (matching the current structure and design and materials of the proposed bench seat) version of this:

Or, even something like this which would be better as folding up when the seat is needed (and the underside is the seat-back cushion) and when folded down, it's a small console and there would then be a space between the split bench seat backs?

Just a thought. What does everyone think???

The center seat back on the bench will have a console and cup holders. Scout also knows it needs a way to keep the stuff stored inside from falling when the seat back is raised.

No worries. It has been covered in a few different threads. I just did a quick search and found it mentioned several times. The only thing that is official so far is that it will fold, it will have storage and it will have cupholders. Everything else is still speculation.

The search button is an awesome tool that I think a lot of new members overlook when they join. It’s great to search items that interest you and/or to determine if a thread already exists with a subject you are thinking of posting about. Obviously some topics detail and others cross over into different threads if the topic is something a bit less specific. That said the search button is a great way to learn about all the nonsense that’s been posted the past two years without reading like 20,000 posts 🤣
