Most Improbable or Impossible Scout Motors Special Edition?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

We all speculate (or wish) that some of the legacy special editions (Baja, Red Carpet, etc) will be produced by the Scout Motors or the aftermarket.

But some special editions or aftermarket custom editions (the Canada Dry, Raven, Shadow, or Hurst Shawnee) are improbable and maybe they should be....

We know that in life there are certainties including: aging, death, and taxes. And I suggest that there is another certainty in life; the certainity that Scout Motors will never produce a "Johhnie Reb" (2) edition.

In the current auto market, we have Raptors and T-Rexs. Will SM create a special edition to compete? No SM we do not need another "half assed special edition" (1), the Giganotosaurus.... But you never know....

Johnnie Reb, huh? Classy. 🤨

The Canada Dry livery was a much better move.

Way different times. That is a complicated and divisive subject. I am a native born Charlestonian, and I would not be so inclined to as to drive such a vehicle.

Great question. I’ve driven a Bronco Raptor (such a unique and capable animal that I can’t believe Ford actually built) and was thinking/pondering/dreaming just yesterday that it sure would be amazing if Scout Motors would offer a Raptor fighting type of vehicle. Two problems:
1. I’m guessing they’d price it quite high of course.
2. Unfortunately I really haven’t gotten any vibes around here to make me think they’d chase such a thing even after launch.

I disagree on number 2. I really do think that Reaper is the TM they applied for to use on performance models.

Honestly I’m relieved to see someone disagree!!!

I agree, it makes sense, and I’m hopeful…. I just haven’t seen anything out of their mouths or even on this forum (still searching) that would make me think it’s even a thought in their minds.

Maybe that’s just because they haven’t even launched yet and it’s not really a thought, but hopefully the TM shows they’ve at least got it in their back pocket and it’s a possibility?

It was discussed after the TM filings were released. Probably about a year ago if I remember correctly. Nothing is certain, but many members immediately grabbed on to the idea and agreed that name works for a performance model.

Excellent! Thank you for the link and extra info. Makes me hopeful. Do you think Scout Motors would ever put together a package with a more extreme suspension setup to take on the likes of a Bronco Raptor? What’s your read on the room for the last couple of years? Has it all been focused solely on straightforward models for the masses to get the brand on the map or have you also seen sprinkles of hope for more aggressive models/trims? In your opinion do you think they have a performance model like that in the back of their heads on the 10 year plan at least?

I think they do. I think initial push and offerings are to revive the name and produce high volume seller to get the door open and keep it open for the fun variations. They’ve always said community and they always focused on adventure so it only makes sense. Guessing it will be a few years or even stalled for that possible future smaller vehicle that was hinted at in the reveal presentation graphics.
Wouldn’t be surprised if some of that is already Skunkworks in the making 😀

I would say no doubt about it!
