Key Winter Features

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I would love to see the ability to apply heat to mirrors, headlights, windshield wipers, steering wheel and seats. I've also been very impressed with the "reheat" option in my Sprinter that leverages the A/C unit to dehumidify air near the windshield to quickly reduce fog. That would be a great option in the Scout platform for us winter adventurers.

A patent application shows Rivian is working on heated headlight lenses

Alot of these are required items for those living in places with winter (ie > 50" snow) so I'd hope they are at least options?

Everyone complains about my bronco not havjng rear heat vents except on floor. They want them in console or B pillar like other SUVS. HOpefully the Scout checks all the boxes for winter driving and 4x4'ing.

FYI-Ford listened and added rear vents for the four-door Broncos.

The hood too, some kind of blower in there so snow can melt. First snow on the east coast and saw a few Tesla models with snow all over their hoods,

I don’t believe I have ever had the need for heated headlights, but I frequently have the need for heated taillights. Snow kicks up or blows around and plasters the whole back of the vehicle. It doesn’t have to be actively snowing for this to happen, just on unpacked snow. I get out of my car sometimes and wonder how anyone ever saw my brake lights with an inch of snow on them. License plate too. My wife got pulled over for her license plate being covered. What did the cop expect? Were we to pull over every 5 miles to clear the license plate?

Interesting. Front’s always been my biggest issue unless it’s out during work hours and there’s wet snow then back has been covered but that’s just a quick sweep before leaving the lot.

Yeah, just the opposite for me. A quick sweep of the headlights before leaving the lot and it’s good. I think it is because of the heat generated by the lights, they stay clear. My taillights are LED which don’t create the heat to keep the snow off. A major problem for me here in rural Northern Wisconsin when it snows and for a few days afterward. They don’t plow down to the bare pavement around here. It gets packed and they sand/salt 90/10% down the double yellow line so one side tires get traction.

I pretty much want a flamethrower, an awning that has radiant heat like what they have outside of nightclubs and valet stands, and maybe ambient heat on the exterior, I think. 🤔 Basically, nothing rational or practical. I hate being cold and I hate snow (it’s beautiful as it’s falling but turns pretty gross pretty quickly). Other than the ability to hide your holiday weight gain in layers, get fresh pomegranates, and drink hot drinks all the time with or without booze, this is the worst time of year.
