Harvester- No Gas Cap

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Assuming there’s still a cover-correct?
Reveal had a cover with the word ‘harvester’ passenger side, I believe and with a row of crops and a combine. So there is a cover.

No cap design on our Honda CRV has worked fine for the last 8 years. I Just filled it up today for my daughter, who drives it mostly now.

I just wanted to be sure that’s what you meant and not like a Daytona race car where you just jam nozzle in and go. I saw the vehicles in person at reveal-that cover is SO COOL! I don’t want a harvester but would consider just because of the harvester

I love the Ford Easy-Fuel setup on my car. I think if I ever had to go back to one with a cap now I'd be in trouble. After 14+ years of not having to worry about putting a cap on after filling, I'd never remember.

I’ve had both and avoiding the cap is much easier-less mess having to touch a dirty gas cap as well.

It’s funny: I am all for stuff like massaging chairs and a certain amount of tech assist, but I am not seeing a gas cap as a huge impediment in my life, personally. If the cap’s dirty, it can be cleaned. There’s always the prospect of moving to New Jersey? 😃😃😃

I have a hard time letting someone else pump my gas but that’s definitely a Jersey thing

Unfortunately, you are having to touch the gas pump handle which are among the dirtiest commonly touched areas in public.
Very true. But with the new non-harvester I won’t need to touch pumps anymore-or very minimally. Just plug in at home and make my wife connect charger when we long distance travel 🤣🤣🤣

What is wrong with you? 🤬
I posted that just to see what your reaction would be. Was laughing in my head as I typed it 🤣
That said, she is a strong, independent woman and our married rules are far and few between:
-I do majority of outside chores (winter included) and she does majority inside but we help each other as needed
-I do 95% of cooking and she does dishes (she hates cooking)
-whoever drives pumps gas. My wife and daughter prefer I don’t drive as apparently I’m way more spirited then they are (said by my 20year old) who drives a Lexus IS and did the teen driving by school at BMW and wants to be a race car driver as her back up career. So I ride shotgun or rear seat and they pump the gas 😀
Needless to say I still posted it to see your response 🤣

I say that doing the dishes instead of cooking is her playing the long game with you and she’s making gnocchi from scratch when you go out of town. There are signs that you’ve been ignoring for years.

Not having a gas cap, and having push button start have changed how I look at vehicles. Two simple pleasures that I enjoy. Maybe a little lame, but again, I like the little things.

As a motorcycle rider it doesn't really matter to me. Also, because I still use house keys, again doesn't matter either way. I actually find it annoying sometimes if I have remembered if I have the key on me when driving the push button start car.
