Current and future features

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

1. co-captain seating with a 3rd row
2. sentry mode in 4k with to option to upload data
3. underbody camera
4. crab crawl mode
5. remote monitor mode with the option track and disable the vehicle from the app if stolen
6. Apple car play/Android auto
7. Full self driving mode with auto parking (pull in, back in, and parallel parking)
8. Dropoff and Summon mode from a parking spot.
9. Kneeling mode for getting heavy item in the rear cargo area
10. 360 collision monitoring (tightens the seatbelt just before collision)
11. Window blinds mode (frost side, rear, windsheild windows so you can't see in, probably a feature in sentry mode)
12. Auto rain wipers
13. For emergency a port for the firefighters to connect a fire hose to put out battery fires.
14. Auto turning headlight with auto highbeams
15. Digital keys

You have to keep in mind that Scout is trying to keep this vehicle affordable for the average consumer. Some of these items that can’t easily be integrated via software like 3rd row w/ co-captain seats, crab crawl mode, and window blinds mode on all the windows which would require electrochroamatic film (expensive), is probably not going to happen and the majority of possible Scout buyers probably could care less about some of these things. Scout is not trying to be a Hummer EV and are focusing more on similar competition like the Ford Bronco/Ranger Raptor, Jeep Wrangler, Rivian R1S/R1T/R2 and Toyota Land Cruiser/Tacoma TRD to name a few that is in that 50-65K price range.

Some of these features can be implemented later on as they become more mainstream. My title did say current and future features. The only one I really care to see right away is the co-captain seats with the 3rd row.

Manually set a crawl speed for off-roading. Newer Jeeps do this in 4Lo with Hill Descent Control. First gear is 1mph, 2d gear is 2mph, 3d gear is 3mph... Really a convenient feature that would really nice if it was tied to buttons on the steering wheel (activation could be on the display, then use up/down buttons or a control wheel on the steering wheel to set the speed)...

while I don't anticipate full self driving in a 27 Scout - VW does have a good suite of top end driver assist features, which I hope are all offered on the Scout. Auto wipers are on my 2015 VW - would be embarrassing if a 27 vehicle did not have them. My 17 Ford has auto high beams - again, this vehicle should not be a decade obsolete.
