Create a pickup section of the Forum

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

My interest is only in the Scout SUV and it seems that most (not all) on this site are also solely or mainly interested in the SUV as opposed to the upcoming SM pickup. No doubt because the "Scout" was the IH SUV and holds most of the nostalgia. To me a pickup is a pickup but you are going to need to sell a lot of pickups in addition to the SUV so you need to reach those pickup buyers too.

You may want to create separate pickup and SUV sections of the forum so the pickup people can more easily engage in pickup discussions. Almost all the threads are SUV centric. You should also have a registry for IH pickups in addition to the Scout, Terra and Traveller lists. You may want a Travelall registry also if you have plans for a 3 row (you should).

I would second this, but from the perspective of the pick-up buyer, as someone that is solely interested in a SCOUT pick-up. Using the closest analogous competitor in the EV truck category (Rivian R1T & R1S), there are many differences between those two vehicles (despite sharing the same basic design and platform) when it comes to things like storage, bed features, range, wheelbase length, off-road performance, on-road performance, etc. It's probably not a bad idea to start some separate sections here at some point in the future.

Sorry, I just remembered seeing this topic but forgot to provide some background.

We do plan to add model-specific areas to the forum in the future once the vehicles are introduced. I'm not opposed to creating a pickup-specific forum area sooner, but in my experience, splintering the conversations into smaller forums often results in a lot of duplicate conversations/topics and overall splinters the community a bit. Obviously, the pickup truck has some different priorities over the SUV but there is a lot of overlap as well during the development. I'll talk with our internal teams to see if it would be helpful and we'll figure out the best compromise.

I think the pickup and SUV should be the same vehicle with different tops like the Traveler and Terra pickup.
