Camp mode

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Well as I watched the holiday meeting several times I took note the the UX screens had various info displayed. Most were hard to read but eye catching nonetheless then to my surprise at around 1:10 in the video what Appears to be an great Easter egg popped up.
Looks like a power countdown/generator clock and an image that sure looks like a camp site. Me doth believe this might be a camp mode?
Begin speculating 🤣

Shortly before that there was a great image of the slide out work tray at the passenger side front seat as well.
That’s a great set of gifts just in time for Christmas
Time to spot for other Easter Eggs during my week off to end the year

Camp mode i like this. The more cool camp stuff they do the better. On the Traveller has anyone noticed how far buried the hitch receiver is under the spare tire and bumper? Do you think the prototypes even have hitch receivers? Just don't want to have to use an extended draw bar receiver when pulling trailer. Nice to have a light that shines down on hitch receiver for hooking up trailer at night.

One of the things that I wish was easier to change on the Lightning and Mustang is the lighting modes. I'd love a mode where approaching a vehicle doesn't trigger the surrounding light, opening a door doesn't turn on the dome lights, etc. I would call it "Do Not Disturb" Mode or, yes, "Camp Mode."

A few obvious things to unpack here....
1. Remaining battery life
2. Distance to charging station

I'm sure there more if I were to look through a larger lense.

We were told at reveal that the hitch wasn’t shown on the prototypes

Thank you for getting back to me on this. I am really leaning toward the Traveler. Seems like lots of rigs these days like to hide the hitch receiver. Could you please tell the Scout designers to be out and proud with thier hitch receiver and let it stick out as far as possible. A simple 2" by 2" cap to place in receiver when not towing would do the trick for me. I bet the original Scouts has a burly hitch receiver.

Not sure if this pic is stock but something like this.

Here's one for those speculating about the harvester...

On this test mule, the battery state of charge is 49% and it hasn't started using the range extender enough to go below 100% in the fuel tank.

What’s going on with that bar mounted on the dash? That’s neat! Is that where I can safely affix a Gumby and Pokey diorama or does that have another purpose? I don’t remember seeing that before.

I’m mounting my collection of Hula girl bobbles. I’m sure it’s for go pros and other digital accessories. Hope there are usb ports as well

Cross-posting from the accessories thread because it might be interesting to those in a camp thread.
I just saw this unboxing video of a Rivian Travel Kitchen.
Basically a Rivian-branded induction cooktop and workstation for the tailgate. It would be cool to see something like this with a Scout brand!

I love that it’s made to fit flush with the tailgate and doubly love that they used induction. I hated my electric stove so much, but the induction hot water kettle that I have is amazing. It made me a true believer.

Scout would make it with a rugged and stronger outdoors look. A nice solid grab handle like the rail on the dashboard near the windshield. It would look so nice.

Probably so if they did… their aesthetic is more outdoorsy-utilitarian than Rivian’s. That said, I really like the clean lines of the Rivian camp stove. I like it more because it looks like something that I could use in a lot of different situations and it wouldn’t look like I’m using a camp stove. If I was having a party or hosting Thanksgiving and needed the extra burners, I could bring this inside. I’m always a little nervous about bringing butane inside. I have known too many “the propane tank exploded and that’s what destroyed the entire house” stories to ever want to mess with propane. Sorry, Hank Hill.
