This is my 1974 Scout II Cab Top with an AMC 258 and 4-speed
Tell us about your Scout:
This was originally a California truck that made it's way to me when I was living in Boston. It was originally a basic 4x2 steel cab top work truck with no bells and whistles. A PO converted it to 4x4 and slapped some the decal on with some gnarly homemade suspension components. Since purchasing the truck in 2019, there has been a ton of mechanical work needed to correct earlier mistakes and the truck is almost exactly where I want it all these years later.
I've retained the original AMC 258 and T19 4-spd while regearing to 4.11. It has a 4 inch lift with 33 inch tires. It is currently in the shop to finally address rotten cab mounts, a new bed and a new paint job returning the truck to its original white paint scheme. Will update with those photos when I have them. I love driving this around the Miami area (since relocating) and can't wait to get it back on the road.
**older photo but still my favorite**
