  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Honestly, some of these responses scare me. I’m concerned that too much fancy tech could pivot the new Scout towards becoming a luxury vehicle. I personally don’t want to see this vehicle move in that direction. Concerning driver assistance features: I expect a 2026 vehicle to have adaptive...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Uh, you do know this is going to be an electric vehicle?

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Please don't use a factory 5G connection tied to one of the wireless carriers! Just wifi which can connect to my home network once a day, and/or use my phones bluetooth connection as the backhaul network. I own a 2015 vehicle with an infotainment system which used to use the 3G wireless...

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

I would like to see a ton of "bolt on" accessories and/or options. I'm talking about factory available attachment points for add-on “things”. Factory holes on the bumper for a winch, mounting spots for a grab bar with your favorite sporting team logo on it, attachment point for a CB radio for...

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

Great approach. My hope would be that Scout Motors be bold in their decision making and define a new market segment. The original Scouts were just meant to be a reliable and capable "farm" truck. Luxury was never a goal, neither was greatest rock-crawler ever. Just please build a good...

    EV focused suggestions

I agree with everything but the cameras and air suspension. Cameras are a nice convenience, but add cost and complexity that not everyone wants to be forced to pay for. I'd to see pre-run wiring, but would prefer an optional camera package. Air suspension is awesome, but again not desired by...

    Tailgate and/or Tailgating

This is a highly subjective decision. As far as wheeling/camping goes, a fold down tailgate is king. It's your seat and your workbench. It can also allow for 4x8 sheets of plywood or for hauling that new sofa home. It's just so much more versatile that a lift gate or side-swing. A side-swing...

App / Touchscreen Interaction and Ideas

This is where multiple screens could help. The behind-the-wheel screen could satisfy all the DOT requirements, while the center-dash screen could be left for customizations. But, please keep climate controls using dedicated knobs and buttoms.

App / Touchscreen Interaction and Ideas

CB's in 2026, really? I can't imagine new Scout spending any money on R&D for any CB hardware/ software. I like the nostalgia, and I do have one in my Scout. But I think it's best left to aftermarket solutions. That said, since we're brainstorming: Imagine a 'private' Scout only radio service...

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

Well said! My dad owned 3 Scouts. He loved them because they were simple, plain, barebones workhorses. Not to mention affordable (unlike the new Bronco). Scouts were easy to work on and repair. Not common with today's vehicles. It would be lovely if the new Scout offered a barebones version...

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

Best way to prevent chipped windshields is just to increase the distance from the car in front of you.
