Warranty Claims / Service

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

My advice for warranty and repair service experience:

Backstory- Long time Tesla enthusiasts and 4 time and current Tesla owner. I love my Tesla and most everything about the car. I absolutely, and I promise you 99.99% of Tesla owners will agree with me, DESPISE dealing with their service centers, arrogant and incompetent technicians, and a scheduling system that could not make the customer feel less important if they tried.

Here's my advice: If things go wrong, and we expect there will be issues with a new EV, go above and beyond to keep the customer in the loop, source spare parts from day 1, and at all costs do not look for a way to blame the customer for vehicle defects! Just. fix. it. Even if the occasional customer is to blame for potentially putting their Scout through the paces a little too much- be known as the company that unequivocally stands behind their product. Fix it, ASAP. Put PR above all else.

Just. Fix. It. Build a few hundred dollars extra into every vehicle MSRP to cover the cost, but after we have spent between $50k-$80k buying it, just fix it if something malfunctions.

Ask any Tesla owner who was made to feel like they were an inconvenience to the employees during the delivery process and to every customer who was made to feel like mfg quality issues were just to be expected and told to get over it- they'll all tell you the same thing... If Scout will treat customers the exact opposite way Tesla treats theirs, you'll win over virtually every EV owner in the market.

By the way, I'm an early reservation holder for a Terra Harvester and Traveler Harvester. I have never been more excited for a new vehicle than I am for this pair!!!

Based on the arrogance of Musk vs the transparency and genuine approach of SM (thus far) I have high hopes that your requests will be met. I think the SM leadership team is a better way for EVERY vehicle manufacturer to approach business and I think if things go as planned for SM we may see changes at the big, established manufacturers. I have no doubt SM is approaching these vehicles much differently than Musk/Tesla did when they started out.
