Wards Auto Article on Scout Motors

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debate is welcomed and often produces great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
My uncle just retired from over 45 years the Auto industry... sales & then financing & dealership management for JLR. He started out selling the IH brand under AMC as a teenager. I'd be lying if I said he didn't predict almost every move VW's made since acquiring the Scout name what now seems like eons ago. He and I have been giddy AF since the first announcement.

Do you guys Really want to shake up the Industry? Find the old molds and pressing dies for Vintage models & start offering replacement parts to keep our Scouts on the road for another 55 years. You probably wouldn't make much money on them... but it would make repairs easier & cheaper, and keep the few Originals easier to insure. Replacement part costs are bats%&t.

Offer a Packaged or Dealership-installed BEV conversion kit. Many Scout owners like myself could easily get by with a couple hundred miles of range & Middle-Of-The-Road hp/tq. Make the kit universal enough to fit any Scout, old Bronc, Jeep, Ram Charger, etc.

I've had this article sent to me by a few people now who are just hearing of the New Scout for the first time. Keep up the good work, team.

Wow
Read the article and now I think I’m more impressed. The team walked away from their 401Ks and comfort of VW. Tells me it’s sink or swim for your team so here’s hoping you hit the nail on the head. Keep showing the execs at VW that you were all right in knowing what we’ve all been saying about bringing back an icon and build it into the best EV company out there.

Chris and I both echo your enthusiasm not just because of our direct involvement in the company but because we really want to see this be successful because honestly, I'd love to genuinely call it my next vehicle. Having spent most of my life around automotive companies, this is the most excited I've been in a long time. It won't make everyone happy, but in this modern world it will make a lot of people happy.
