Terra- Remove LED trim light on Tailgate

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Hopefully they'll offer upgrade masks for front and rear. I'd personally like to see amber turn signals on the rear. The rest of the world recognizes them as being safer and more conspicuous, but the US just doesn't seem to get it.

I love lights. All lights. Give me awesome lighting and lots of it! Tasteful though, not a bunch of RGB stuff all over. Puddle lights, fog lights, accent lighting, zone lighting, rock lights, etc. etc. The ability to turn any/all lights on individually - especially useful for camping.😂

Anyway, I can’t say I really have any complaints about the lighting that they’ve presented thus far. Looks pretty sharp from my perspective, but I appreciate other opinions.

Maybe they can find ways to make it customizable to accommodate all of our wishes?? 😯

I love lights as well! I own a lighting company and specialize in it. I agree with having lots of lights. I have custom rock lights on my current Scout and love them. I also agree with the ability to turn lights on/off individually. Linear lighting in a truck bed however that gets constantly opened and shut and loaded and beat up is asking for maintenance issues and there is nothing worse looking that a partially light strip light! Personally those lights in the tailgate that wrap around look silly.

Seeing in person the white lights look good. Hoping the keep them white but use amber LED below so. EST of both worlds

Can you elaborate? I’m trying to picture this. Are you talking amber LED turn signals or amber DRL or both or something else?

Both I suppose. I just think the consistency of the white looking lights at all locations looks great verses red here, amber there, as is the norm. If the white plastic out surfaces can all stay white but the bulbs/LED’s can be red or amber so blinkers are correct color that would be nice. In person the vehicles just look clean and consistent with all white lighting elements when not flashing

Okay cool, I get it. Yes I agree - they look clean, consistent, and classy. I can’t say I have any complaints about the look so far and I imagine the concept vehicles look even more slick in-person.

I’d have to see side-by-side pictures/renders with white/clear in the rear to give an opinion there since I don’t have any issues with the current setup of white/clear front and red rear. Good idea!

I guess technically the rear wrap around lights were red and that was fine. I think the amber was my concern. The coolest detail was the cut out Scout logo in tire carrier of Traveler so it wasn’t quite orange but the red was a subtle throw back to IH logo-whether intended or not

Agreed. Yeah the red wrap around doesn’t bug me either.
The Scout logos, especially being lit, were an amazing surprise.

I like the wrap through tail lights too. But maybe option in like the infotainment to enable or disable the tailgate part if the lights?
There are lots of considerations to make that happen I’m sure, but I was wondering the same as long as they can get it to pass legal, safety, etc. requirements.

The LED trim light that wraps around the rear tailgate looks out of place and way too modern. Keep the truck looking like a work horse. I like the stance and the overall design, but hate the tailgate lights. I would disconnect this light if you keep it in the final version. I have reserved this truck and can't wait to see the finished product!
No!!! That's one of the many things I like about it more than the SUV version.
Don't listen to him, Scout. I'll cancel my order if that light is gone😆

What do you mean by a "mask"? I definitely would like to see the amber turn signals as well.

Scout was calling the black plastic front grill area a "mask" and same thing for the rear plastic panel with the lights. Think of Zorro!
