  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Before the new Ford Bronco was revealed years ago, I was in the process of making this.

Here is a rendering I did of an old 1969 scout 800 on top of a 1998 s10 2 door blazer chassis.

An old scout with modern touches and drivetrain.

    Lighting
-LED headlights with integrated turn signals
    -LED tailights
-flush mounted LED marker lights on side

    Chassis
-all aluminum V8 with fuel injection
-5 speed manual transmission/ or automatic
    -newer 4x4 transfercase
    -Independent Front Suspension with ABS
    -4 inch suspension lift

    Body

    Top
-New smoother Fiberglass hardtop with no drip rail
    -Intergrated off road lights
-Heavy Duty roof rack and front air spoiler
    Doors
    -one piece Door glass
    -newer mirrors
    -shaved door handles
(little alcove in between door and rear quarter for push button on door)
-hinges redesigned to be more proment
    Fenders
-Re shape the fender lips to be more modern/fender flare-ish
-running light flushed into seams of the panels
    Grille
-elongated honeycome design in center grille opening
    -grille smoother and more modern
    Hood
-reskin with a more muscular form slightly taller features
    Winshield
    -Flushmount windshield (no gasket)
    -black out wiperblades
    Bumpers
-More rugged, modular, and modern design
    Interior
-Custom more modern but rugged features

It’s like a cross between an 800 and modern day Bronco 😀
I really like the vertical sliver turn signal indicator. Thats pretty sweet as a detail

Long ago, I mentioned on here somewhere that the Scout 80 size two door could be a street legal side by side. The UTV market has become incredibly advanced. You just can’t drive them on the street in a lot of states. A vehicle that size with a lower market volume expectation would probably do well. I mean if Scout essentially came out with a vehicle roughly between the size of the old 80 and a Polaris crew, they may be in to something. It would take away share from Wrangler and Bronco two door models, and also take share from the UTV market ( Polaris, CanAm, etc). 🤔

I'm not a fan of the round headlights.

    BWAHAHA!

You know with all the headlight discussions, I had to say this! *grin*

Why does the title say based on Rivian? The only relationship between Scout and Rivian is software right?

Mechanically they are two different vehicle platforms. The Scout Motors platform is a body-on-frame setup. We will utilize aspects of the Rivian software and zonal architecture.

I hope the new scout has at least 10 inches of front travel. 4 inches up and 6 down would be awesome. Some forethought into a 3 inch lift would be amazing.

I personally am not looking for a huge lift and tires just small 3 to 4 inch raise so it will be different than every grocery getter, also good for camping and overlanding.
