Scout CEO searching for a Scout

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debate is welcomed and often produces great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Alright, Scout Community,

Our CEO, Scott Keogh, is currently in the market for a Scout, so I'm taking to the forums to see if anyone here is selling a Scout, knows someone who is, or has any recommendations on spots you'd recommend searching.

Thanks!

Chris

PSST - he wants a Scout II... D44s front and rear, front disks(both '74 and later), plenty of room for the family still. Preferably with a like 3' lift and 33s.

EDIT: I was saying that in sarcasm. I have no idea what he'd like.

Looking for a Scout II, 80 or 800?

Hah! I actually think he is looking for a Scout II, likely as you described @IdahoJOAT . That being said, any and all Scouts for sale are welcome. I've got my eye on picking one up in the next 6 months or so as well, and potentially seeing what we might be able to do to acquire some for the company.

I feel like a regular Scout II is going to be most popular but I also suggest Travelers (and terras) as the longer wheelbase offers a few advantages in improved ride and the extra space is really nice. Prices are usually a little tamer on the Travelers. A Midas Traveler would be the ideal find.

Due to health reasons, I'm faced with the decision of having to sell my 75 Scout II. Non running but complete. SOA rolling on 35" shoes. Dana 44's front and rear. Disc brakes on all 4 corners. Rear axle has ARB with 35 spline axles and 4.56 gears. I bent two hoops with building a roll cage in mind, but not welded in yet. Needs a new complete wire harness. Just to name a few things that I tried to accomplish.

Hey @Scooter, sorry to hear about the health reasons, and hope you're doing well.

Got any pics of the Scout you can send over?

What is the timeframe for delivery? I have several Scouts in Ohio that I can restore to his specs
