Remote Features

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I expect at least those features. They're basic table steaks for pretty much every EV so I fully expect an app that lets owners set climate timers and charging schedules and checking the vehicle status and such. Those are basic capabilities for pretty much every EV including the crappy old Leaf.
I also would fully expect these features, but at the very least the options to lock/unlock, climate control, sound the horn/alarm.

Precisely. Please. In fact, I’d actually prefer no subscription at all.
It seems to me there are different situations wrt subscriptions. There’s the really slimy kind, where your vehicle has a capability, like seat warmers or rear steering but the auto manufacturer disables them with software unless you pay a subscription. I’d be very surprised and disappointed if SM tried that. Then there’s things like gps navigation with regular updates, traffic reports, etc. I could see making a case to charge a small fee for those updates and connectivity, but it would seem kinda chintzy. Then there’s things like hotspot and internet connectivity, that would be like paying for internet service. Probably not necessary, if you have a phone, and they’d need some sort of connectivity to do ota updates, but it’s not necessarily unreasonable to charge a small fee to provide faster service if you want a hotspot in your vehicle.
I guess it’s a bit subjective, but as long as it’s reasonably priced and not a basic necessity, I don’t necessarily object, but probably wouldn’t pay unless it was something I found really valuable

If the introduce subscriptions for hardware that is on the vehicle (seat warmers/coolers, seat adjust memory, etc) I would 100% cancel my order. I won't support that kind of crap.

From the sounds of the way they speak I don't believe they would do that, but you never know until it is released.

I agree this stuff should be standard on any modern car let alone one as future driven as an EV.

I'd hope there's some 2-3 year subscription service with the purchase of the vehicle.

And I know hosting the services isn't free so I'm fine with a subscription, but please it should be to just cover the costs maybe a little extra. There's no reason why it should cost $200 annually. Looking at you Hyundai.
