Patch panels

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Patch Panels

I suggest a Velcro panel above the driver that you can attach Velcro patches and other accessories too.

One of my favorite mods that I have done to my Wrangler was add insulation to the roof and just so happens that Velcro sticks to it very nicely. I have accumulated some through the years and love this little feature of my Jeep that adds character and personality. Also on top of adding patches I have 3D printed a panel with magnets in it so that I could store my sunglass cleaner kit to the roof. It works great and is easily removed for home use or adventures. I get compliments and request all the time.

This would be a great feature to add. I am sure that this is highly marketable and would be a great accessory that many would pay for. A few items off the top of my head would be, sunglass holders, sunglass cleaner kit, wallets/wallet holder, patches, replacement Velcro panels, small flashlight holder ((like O’light) Collaboration?).

2 cents on design:
-Make the accessory side soft so that when you removed it has a nice appearance and touch. So that it is a nice product alone that happens to work beautifully with your new Scout. My attached photo of the glasses cleaner is a perfect example.
-Looks like we have limited space above the windshield to were the large glass panel on the roof would begin. To keep manufacturing simple and consistent. Make the panel ~7”x18”, or whatever fits. So that however that particular vehicle is spec’d out the manufacturing process is consistent and cost effective.
-It looks like a firm fabric or heavy plastic material. You could use rivet type fasteners with snaps on it to snap a Velcro panel too and makes it replaceable if the velcro were to ever wear out.

Thank you all for making this a great community and I look forward to seeing it grow and come together as the vehicles are released.

Let me / us know your thoughts.

That is wonderful. Thank you for sharing that and I hope that we can build a strong community of Scout owners. That is one reason I loved my Jeep so much over the years. Sadly Jeep is not what it use to be and I must move on.

I really like this. I’ve been wondering how to do something like this in my Jeep.
