Option for a Rugged/Waterproof Interior Trim

The nice leather and white fabric looks cool but it's not functional. We need a waterproof, rugged, rubber-lined, interior option. Think jumping into the car in a still damp wetsuit, throwing your sandy items in the back, and washing out the interior with a hose when you get home. Drain holes and an option for an adventure key would be great. Seat material even more durable than the Suburu sport trim (scratch/tear resistant, waterproof, salt resistant). We need an interior trim option for people that want to beat on the truck.

Agreed. With all we do with our off road/daily combo vehicle - unfortunately dust, dirt, mud, water, etc. etc. do end up making it into the interior. Whether we’re playing in the water somewhere, running an off road trail, mountain biking, or otherwise - it just happens if you’re out using the thing. We try to keep it to a minimum, but clean-up is needed after each adventure. An interior that is more rugged, durable, and stain resistant than a white Tesla interior would definitely be needed.

Jaime from Scout Motors just changed the suggestion forum settings to allow votes because I asked if there was a way for us to vote on suggested features.

By "adventure key" I just meant a non-electronic key that you can take on adventures. Polestar offered this and Tesla offers a credit card key. Ford has a keycode on the pillar so you don't need to bring your key. All very useful for going to the beach and other adventures.

I explained it more above. It's usually like a hotel room card key but it can be any waterproof key that you can bring in the ocean and other places without destroying your fob.

Hmm, OK I get the concept now. Here's my take on it.
I think Ford's solution is hideous. I'd pay to not have it, or seriously not buy the car.
I'd like to avoid having extra things to remember. So I'd love to see a way to register and deregister anything with an NFC.
Talking about all modern phones, Apple watches, Garmin watches, etc.

Maybe even just to unlock the car. Not necessarily start it. Going for a hike or swimming. Lock your car with your keys in it. Unlock it with your watch when you come back.... Just don't let it die on you.

I’m a little worried that the interior design is not going to be easy enough to clean.

For example, the space behind the touchscreen is going to collect dust and be very difficult to clean. I get it, that open space makes the interior feel light. But in real world use it might make the interior feel dirty.

Off-roading means dust and mud and sometimes a bit of road building. The light colored surface behind the grab bar is going to get dirty. They said it glows like a fireplace at night, which I like, but they really need to prioritize being easy to clean. Hopefully it is.

Good catch and good point.

Hear me out SM team, lol. What if the screen was detachable. Connected with strong magnets and some kind of pogo pin connector for the data link.

Disconnecting will enable thorough cleaning, and maybe while parked you can take it off and handle it better for manipulating map apps, etc.

This is why I made the suggestion. I'm not saying it needs to be submersible but an all black waterproof option would be great. Some rubber/plastic trim to cover all the crevices and allow you to spray out the interior would be really cool. The second you touch that light fabric trim with some mud it's all over.

1. I'm thinking more than just durable fabric. It would be cool if they went super over the top and made it a premium option. I'm talking kevlar dash or glove compartment and X-Pac sailcloth for any fabric areas. Black X-Pac looks really technical and sleek.

2. Not sure what you mean. Adventure key would be for any time you can't bring your car fob or a phone. It's just a card you can slip into a swimsuit or wetsuit.
