Off Topic Forum?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Has the group grown to the point an off topic forum would be useful?

So everything between food, dogs, whisky and more can be discussed without cluttering up the forum

Not knocking your question at all but wondering why? Just not understanding what you are looking to accomplish as it relates to Scouts? Can you explain more?
Thanks

More personal, building a deeper & more engaged community, who are you, your dog, your cat, what whisky fo you like, what pocket knife

You can only speculate about Scouts so much while having a off topic conversation about your football team drives more comments and in turn keeps people engaged waiting for the next Scout Easter egg to drop

Look at other successful vehicle forums, the more successful they are the more engagement in the off topic threads

I've been a pretty long-term member of a couple of forums (3-6k posts on 3 of them).

It seems there are two types of people that post on them regularly fall into two (main) categories:
  • People that are passionate/interested in the subject
    • Who want to "hang out" and discuss the subject, and other subjects with people who have a common interest
  • People that are passionate/interested in the subject
    • Who want to talk about the subject to learn from other very passionate people, but don't really have an interest in discussing other subjects there.
Personally, I'm in the second group. I bet I've posted in a few off-topic threads, here and there over the years. But by and large I ignore them. I come to the forum to discuss a specific subject. I want to learn something, answer questions if I know them, and generally uplevel my knowledge of the "thing". I have no interest in what people are eating, drinking, or what their pets are.

That said, they also don't bother me. It's just not a thing that I'm 'into" either.

There was a conspiracy on Bronco6g.com that when things want stagnant, they would discuss Pineapple Pizza and then somehow Bronco leaks or news would break. They felt so compelled that this was accurate that they made specialized "Bronco6g Pineapple Pizza" patches for those in that discussion group.

I remember that. Completely forgot that
