Needs to be able to make it through Rubicons gate keeper without traction boards...

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debate is welcomed and often produces great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Listening to a 4x4 wheeling podcast the other day. The group was leaving the Rubicon trail and happened upon a large group of Rivians that were plugging up the exit of the trail for hours, just trying to get their stockers through the gate keeper.

If you make a Scout that can't get through that then it's embarrassing.

Traction boards don't belong on rocks, they are for mud, sand and snow.

Make it actually 4x4 capable not soccer mom 4x4 capable for snow driving.

amen!

the reason I got my scout was I could go anywhere and most importantly, would always make it home. It’s always lived up to that and let me help others make it home as well.

I used to tell all my Scout nay-sayer buddies this... They had a D30/D35. I had D44s front and rear. That "fully boxed frame" Ford was promoting? Yup, my '71 had that too.

Oh, AND I had more space for gear.

The one thing that ppl tell me when they come up to see my s2 is “those things I’ll go anywhere". Would be a shame to let that legacy down.

What the guy wants is an EV with front and rear locking differentials. A mechanical rear locker would be very nice.

As a non-scout owner i would question if a classic-stock scout would make it through the Rubicon gate keeper? From my memory the scout was a rugged vehicle that could help with your immense farm or property. That is a different spirit than a Jeep which is a "go anywhere" type of idea. The scout (from what i recall) was a fully capable vehicle that was able to take your property where there might not be a pre-made road....that is very different from Rock crawling.

while i understand your wishes i just don't think that is reasonable for them to stay true to the origional concept while targeting it to do something it wasn't originally designed to do.

Ultimately everyone is asking for an "everything and the kitchen sink" SUV. But no one on here will ever want to pay for it. Give me a decent all wheel drive system, more than negative inches of ride height, and an infotainment system that doesn't completely suck like it does on the etron and id4, and I'll be happy. And maybe a car that I can see out of for a change. I'm tired of big-wheeled, high beltline crossovers with 2in tall windows.
