Larger Mirrors

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Increase the size of the mirrors. Look a bit small based on the size and boxiness of the vehicles and would help with towing.
For towing bigger is always better but in person those mirrors look like the perfect proportion. From a design standpoint I don’t think they need to be bigger but I don’t plan to tow anything larger than a utility trailer so I can’t argue if trailering large boats or campers

Yeah I think bigger mirrors would definitely be a plus on the terra, especially if they actually want it to be able to trailer anything.
That would be good as a tow package with pin connectors, large side mirrors, magic rearview and other benefits for towing significant pull behinds

Would definitely like a tow package with proper tow mirrors or even just the ability for a third party to create mirrors - just enable the swap out to be easy enough. My Tundra swapout took 15min? Undo a few bolts, unplug the wire harness, pop on, plug in and do the bolts.

Hopefully this goes with the '80% of things are user-fixable' mantra!

I’m conflicted on this one. I’ve had the pleasure of swapping out my standard mirrors for tow mirrors on my Tundra. Very useful for towing wide trailers. However, I have also used add-on style mirror extensions that strap to the stock mirror when needing to tow. The extensions have always worked just as well for me (not the greatest look of course, but…compromises and trade-offs) and offer the flexibility to take them off for everyday driving and most importantly when off road on tight trails. I think at this point I’d be all for them being offered, but I’m not sold on them being standard (not everyone will want them and I don’t want to see base prices driven up). I know I’ll want a tow package, but I also know I’ll be taking the Scout down tight trails. I guess if they’re not huge maybe it’d be okay for them to be included with the tow package. I’d just worry it would be annoying folding and unfolding constantly when I’m out on trails. It would help though if they were not painted. Painted mirrors get desert/mountain pinstriping so much easier of course.
