Dog Ramp

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

With the ground clearance on the new Scout vehicles being approximately 1 foot, I would love to see a ramp accessory to help our furry friends get in and out of the vehicle. I'm not sure if there's enough of an appetite for this but, I know my chunky labrador would definitely struggle with that jump into the back especially as he grows older. I'm curious to see if others would be interested in this as well.

I already have to help my Samoyed in my car as is and it's not that tall (he just doesn't want to make the effort especially when we are leaving the park). A ramp would give him less of an excuse to look at me with doggy eyes saying 'but it is so hard...'

We got a doggy ramp from Amazon & it really works great for my aging service dog to get into the lifted F250 & even the daughters Bronco Sport

Got a ramp for my labs - never managed to get them comfortable using it though. It is somewhere in the barn now - partially broken because I think I drove over it. My LJ doors are at 28" - the labs have no trouble yet jumping in (oldest is 8). My shelty - it needs help getting in the mini-van. He was a great bed dog - but the bed and even the couch are now well above his jumping ability. Worse yet, if you pick him up and put him on the couch he stays-forever. He is afraid that jumping down will hurt too much.

Sad joke, one dog from long ago had no problem jumping into the bed of my truck with the tailgate down (it was a 4x4). But he was dumb, and tried to jump in over the side of the bed once. He made it-kind of. He clawed the hell out of the paint on the side of the bed doing it. One of my current labs would probably do worse if I did not open the tailgate for him fast enough. He climbs over 6' fences (at the expense of every chicken I used to own). My chicken yard had 8' fences, but I had an arbor with 2 6' gates - he climbed both before the great chicken massacre. Current chickens are in a roofed enclosure.
