Community and Events Ideas

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

So I for one am embracing this new Scout, even as others(namely on Binder Planet), denounce it.

That said, someone else mentioned that the Scout could dethrone the Wrangler and take the Bronco to task, and I have to agree. While I'm hoping for a full-hybrid option, there are some things that could be done to really usher in a new age while also embracing the heritage:
  1. Establish Indiana roots. There's a ton of pride in the American aspect of the Scout, and this is tied mostly to it's non-Detroit lineage.
  2. Feature the old Scout in new marketing material, showcasing how just like it's predecessor, the Scout is game-changing. Ahead of it's time.
  3. Hold events celebrating the old and new. This is already being done, but needs to happen more. There's Jeep Jamborees. There's Jeeping 101s. We want more of this for the Scout. We love them. Give us the community outreach we crave.
Any other ideas Scouters?

Any kind of meet I could manage would need to be local. I'm not trailering my Rig anywhere, & long trips are few & far, far, between. That shouldn't be too much of an issue in the Bay Area/Napa/Sonoma County.

Monterey Car Week/Pebble Beach would be a blast to mob the town with a shambling mass of colorful Scouts. Get a Rally running down Hwy 1 from the North Bay.

I live in Carmel, I’d love to participate in any sort of Scout event during car week. It’s not exactly the target demographic, but it would still be a great place to get some exposure if you’re trying to build (or rebuild) a brand. There are enough general auto enthusiasts that would take an interest.

If this thing is supposed to be a real off-roader, and not just some weekend ski trip 4x4, they need some representation at King of the Hammers. At least some sort of information kiosk. That would be a great place to get some exposure.

I hear a lot of us recalling the experiences we had and wonder based on the early suggestion of being ahead of it’s time do you also throw in a theme of:
This isn’t your parents/fathers/grandparents Scout BUT…. Then run commercials as suggested pairing the new with the old. Tie new paint colors to the old and talk about the connections/ties between new and old. Market the hell out of the heritage connection. Show them near cornfields and farmland to tie it back and list whether you are from Indiana, Pennsylvania, Nebraska…
Hit memorable locations on Rt 66.
Show the new Scout pulling into Scout meets and show the “flavor” of the community.

For those that would want to attend with both their old and new Scout.....make the new Scouts tow rating able to pull the old Scout on a trailer 😁 Family packs up, heads to the event. Kids (teens) hop in one and parents in the other for a fun, adventurous day!
