“Bike rack on trailer hitch” mode to disable rear parking sensors

Don’t most vehicles just have a switch on the dash to shut off the sensors?
Some do and some don’t. Some put it in software. Some, like my Hyundai, would reenable it every time you went from drive to reverse and back, making parallel parking a nightmare. For a vehicle marketed heavily as an “adventure” truck, it’s highly likely a lot of users will have bike racks on. I live in Colorado and about 50% of people in my area have bike racks on the hitch all spring and summer and fall.

Also, most vehicles that have a button to disable the sensors don’t independently control the front and rear sensors and just shut them all off. There is no good reason to have to disable the front parking and front automatic emergency braking sensors at the same time as the rear.

Rivian has a “rear accessory mode” to handle this issue…

Google “Tesla bike rack mode” and you’ll see many people discussing how much it sucks to not have something like this…
 
This is a great feature for more than just bike racks. My Subaru Outback and Ascent trigger due to the slope when I back out of my driveway, then brake and engage the emergency brake, and then I’m half way in the street with my emergency brake on. To disable it I have to sit there with my finger on the button for 5 seconds every time I leave my house, which is not a great feature.

I have a button on the dash of my truck to disable just the front or just the rear sensors. Seems like this would be a standard thing and not buried/dependent on software. But maybe that's just me.
 
I might have too peasant level of a vehicle for this to have been a problem for me so far. I have cross traffic sensors, but no backup sensors afaik.

About 45min after I start driving with my bike on the rack, I get a "cross traffic sensors may be blocked" warning, but thats just a beep and some text on the driver information display for a few seconds.

But being unable to backup because of automatic braking, because of the bike rack, would drive me nuts, as I use my rack quite frequently.

Believe me, when you have a car with rear automatic braking and you can’t consistently and easily disable it, it does truly drive you nuts. 🤪

I think I've got permanently disabled automatic braking :O.

(really though, my 2022 Hyundai Tucson doesn't have it either... or maybe I disabled it on day one? Either way, I haven't experienced it yet, but as I ride with my bike on my oneup rack like the above at least 1-3 times a week, easily disabling it would be crucial).
 
I believe there are several AUX switches on the front left of the dash that can be programmed for what I am not sure, but hopefully one of them would be to disable sensors the backup sensors and other "custom" modes to make the Scout your own.
