Tell us about your Scout:
Hello and thank you for welcoming me to the Scout Registry! I am excited to be a part of this community and share my Scout with others.
I have an Orange 1962 Scout 80. It has been a part of my family for 12 years and has seen its fair share of adventures. One of the most memorable experiences with my Scout was taking it on a 300 mile round trip camping with my family!
My dad surprised me with this amazing vehicle the summer before high school in 2011, and it has been a part of my life ever since. It took us about 10 years to restore it but we finally did it.
I have always been fascinated by Scout Internationals after I saw my first one in Southern Colorado, and over the years I have become obsessed with learning everything there is to know about these amazing vehicles. I am not very mechanically inclined but I am in the process of educating myself on different topics so I can start to build the Wife's 1974 Scout 2.
I have made a few modifications to my Scout, including a crate 302 under the hood with fuel injection connected to a C6 automatic transmission (which I want to upgrade to a 4 speed, maybe overdrive...but 3 gears isnt working to good anymore) . I am always looking for ways to improve and enhance my Scout, so I am looking forward to learning from other members of the registry and sharing my own experiences.
Thank you again for the warm welcome and I can't wait to see all of the amazing Scouts in the registry!
