  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Scout Design Team Feedback V1

I just read this article on the 2027 Ineos BEV. Looks like some of the suggestions in this thread have made it into their plans. The main one that stuck out was the range extender by way of a small generator. Not sure if the design team is looking at that, but I know it was mentioned as a...

I thought the same, but chalked the article up to it’s nice to read but perhaps slightly off the mark, hence my focus on the buttons! But let’s see…

I don’t remember the fold down windshield ever being an option on the scout II. I think it was either the 80 or 800. I’m sure someone here should be more of an expert on those models than I am. The thing I appreciated most was the idea that there are chunky buttons and more of a tactile...

    Is EV demand really tanking?

Just to put to bed the idea that EV is tanking… I was just watching the news, and they were discussing EV sales in 2023. Numbers were a little higher than NADA, but statement was basically 1/10 vehicles sold in 2023 were EV. Excerpt from the NADA below. Full report here...

Fairly short sighted. Terrible EVs are tanking, you can’t attribute that to the entire market. Using current market factors would mean that because no one wanted the Honda insight in 2000, Tesla wouldn’t have come into market in 2003. Even the initial Tesla sales were weak and the pundits have...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Apple is also notorious for a take it or leave it attitude to their IP. GM was looking for a deal and Apple told them to take it or leave it. I’m curious to see if it eventually makes a reappearance. Clearly that would take a community/customer uprising with their choice of GM or everyone else...

    Is EV demand really tanking?

Thanks for the well thought out opinion. I tend to believe the compelling EVs are not cheap and the inexpensive EVs are not interesting, compelling, etc. I have kids and dogs, a Chevy bolt just doesn’t fit this American lifestyle. I’m not climbing mountains or forging rivers, but I need space...

Magna to develop pickup and SUV for Scout Motors

Magna is a fairly well know and entrenched outsourcing partner for everything from full builds to components. They do work for Mercedes, but they also do bodies for Rivian, Seats and power for BMW XM. Safe to say they seem to be able to bring designs to life. Let’s hope they can do it quickly!!

*Convertible at launch, but not that soft top atrocity they have on the Bronco. Hard top modularity would be great. *electric rear window similar to a 4-runner if hard top only. *long wheelbase. *four wheel independent motors *long range *option for solar accessory, or built in *Quick charge...
