  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    RECONSIDER EV

Run flat technology would have to change a lot as the EV’s are considerably heavier than vehicles that have historically used them in production vehicles. So the sidewall in EV’s would have to be profoundly more rigid. With the rigidity comes weight, and at the worst place to have it, close to...

    RECONSIDER EV

It’s not anything bad for a frunk, and potentially when engineers look at what best gives stable weight ratios and close to 50/50 weight distribution that may be ideal, but if the boost pack comes from the factory, they will likely need to figure that frunk mounting in crash tests….and if it...

    RECONSIDER EV

Liquid fuel generators are an option engineers can have pros and cons on. Its likely the Scout will have a tow hitch, so if a customer really wants a generator there can be a way to bring it with them rather easily without having to derail engineers. I am absolutely not dismissing your idea, I...

    RECONSIDER EV

I hope that a 30-50 mile boost pack is something feasible with Scout. We are at a unique point in that this wouldn’t be some pie in the sky engineering feat, and Scout is literally not even designed yet. I think it could literally give a VERY strong competitive edge for EV’s, and be rather...

    RECONSIDER EV

Historically, hot swappable EV batteries have been a bad idea. Evolution of EV technology could absolutely make them lighter, less expensive, and so on. I’ll reiterate…..I WANT Scout to be successful, with that I believe we need to look at avenues that may have been dismissed only a few years...

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

I don’t feel you are jumping down my throat my man. I’m 44, and never ran out of gas. I have faith in Scout, yet while we plan, charging infrastructure is my concern. Even not all that far from where Scout will be built. Not even looking for chargers, I have came across ones out of service...

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

Perhaps a hot swap able range extender where the swing away spare tire carrier normally is, or under the truck rear like most pick ups use to place spares, or a larger hitch battery. Till infrastructure is closer to ideal, this would stop my range anxiety, and likely most others to essentially...

    RECONSIDER EV

PHEV’s today (2024) are not a bad compromise, and they are quite successful for Jeep 4Xe and others. I am sure in late 2025 and 2026 I will agree with you completely. You make sense with the potential target market, likely not seeing too much wilderness, but range anxiety is quite real. I...

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

Top 5 accessories that aren’t even necessarily for me (other than dog accessories) that I believe have a need: 1) Dog kennel area that allows ample cooling (dogs get hot fast) with the accessory floor actively cooling, yet waterproof, and enough traction so a K-9 isn’t slipping around. Many...

    Scout Design Ideas

I believe its because an off-road truck, even driving on road has a better chance of roll overs than a car. It gets a bit trickier still, with most EV’s weight is at the floor, if it does roll over, unlike the ICE convertible that has a heavy engine up front, that heavy weight would assist in...

    Scout Design Ideas

Some thoughts on interior and materials: 1) mycelium…..and the surrogate to leather textiles is coming down in cost AND we have a manufacturer IN South Carolina https://www.innovationintextiles.com/fibres-yarns-fabrics/ In no way is it “pleather”, and it is actually a Hyde-like material with...

    RECONSIDER EV

While infrastructure may not currently be where people want it to be for recharging. What we do know is that Scout will be off road and rugged. Likely with all the add ons that allow a tent on the roof, numerous hitches, winches, etc. Perhaps, the ability for a power pack hitch, spare tire...

    Rodents!

Rodents are attracted to some soy based plastics, and why some vehicles groups that have an abundance of cladding or wiring get this issue even on the outside. I believe more modern plastics have less properties that make them tasty. So hopefully…..the secret will be in the sauce….where the...

    Welcome and Introductions!

I had a couple early 2000 Mini Cooper’s, and they did a PHENOMENAL job of taking the past heritage, making it modern (and a touch more upscale). Yet at the same time, they had basic commuter Mini models that could still have a bevy of non-cost-prohibiting upgrades from decals to turbo and...

    Welcome and Introductions!

Hey Jamie, Chris and others in the forum, I too have came from a background of being a vehicle enthusiast on many different makes and models. Most recently VW Golf R, and Mazda CX turbo vehicles. What is cool about Scout is that it will be in Richland County, as I live in Columbia, SC. I am...
