  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Summer Reveal

I volunteer for Boston, MA! I’ll try to get rid of this pesky muscle atrophy, even, so I can maybe do fun outdoor stuff again (unless you want to see me bring my dad’s ashes and the remaining part/s we have from our Scout II to the places we did fun outdoor stuff at).

    Camping / Overland Ideas

When the Fast and Furious movies start featuring unreleased electric cars, it is certain that they’re here to stay. This is a low-key humblebrag and an honest statement of a proud thing in my life: In my pre-disabled-person life, I worked at an unnamed prestigious institution of technology in...

    Scout Color Poll #1

My dad, rest his soul, advised me against getting a red car because it generally means paying a few bucks more on insurance. I can’t remember if it’s because he had one in the “FA&FO” sense or because a red car is statistically X% more fast and X% more furious on an actuary table. I’d rather...

Take My Money - Pre-Order/Reservation Sign Up

Sound, logical, rational, objective arguments: that’s me. I eagerly await my circuit court appointment and my free Scout.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Avocado/butter/aquamarine are objectively best colors. All colors in the orange, green, and blue color families welcome to attend. I’m so sick of looking at choices for cars in the US that are limited to black, gray, white, red, and asleep. How boring are people in this country? Does nobody...

Take My Money - Pre-Order/Reservation Sign Up

I came home from the hospital in one therefore IT IS MY BIRTHRIGHT [somehow] and [as far as you know] my father’s dying words to me were that I should roll in a new Scout off of the production line because no fool should suffer a 2015 Prius received from a divorce.

Silly ideas sometimes inspire good ones, let's hear yours

I thank you for your service to creating some really great memories. I was talking some more with my mom last night about how I signed up for an account on this forum and what led her and my dad to buy a Scout over a station wagon for a family car, as that was what did in the 1970s at the...

Silly ideas sometimes inspire good ones, let's hear yours

I’m different from a lot of the posters here. I’m a disabled woman in my mid-forties. I have a 2015 Prius and I’m really sick of how low it rides and all of the blind spots it has. My parents had a Scout and it was a lot of fun. I’m looking for a car that’s what the Scout was to my parents...

Scout EV - Interior Inspiration (Compilation)

Something that I didn’t know I wanted until it was offered as an option on the 2024 Prius (hold your tongue) was heated rear seats. Think of yourself as a passenger in the cold winter months eagerly waiting for the cold substrate of the rear seat to warm up, cursing the front seat occupants who...

    New England Region

I’m from Boston, MA! My parents bought a 1975 Scout II in Hingham, MA circa after their wedding (1974). We had that car until 1987. It was affectionately known as Scoutsie. My mom had noted that it had some rust on the window, but I guess the salesman and my dad were like “it’s nothing!” It...

My parents brought me home from the hospital in a 1975 Scout II. That car was named Scoutsie and brought a lot of needed stuff to people after the Blizzard of 78 (the blizzard that is also my origin story).
