  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    1969 800A

Just bought this with my dad. This makes Scout number 10 or 11 in the last 20 years. It's time we went the whole 9 yards, LS swap, paint, re-upholster, Scout II axle swaps, etc. This will be a great project for the family in the coming years.

Scout Motors - who are your competitors?

I keep watching videos on the electric scout competitors, and I see them doing a lot right, but also a lot wrong. The two primary vehicles I like to watch videos on are the Hummer EV (Truck and SUV), and the Rivian R1 (T and S). Here are some things I think both get right, strictly in an...

    Open top heating thoughts

In my original post I was thinking electric coils to provide radiant heat. Utilizing the batteries, as you say, would be a great idea. I think vents from the battery to the cab would not be best simply because water, mud, and miscellaneous items could easily get dropped down the vents and into...

    Open top heating thoughts

I have never seen it done, but electric-radiant floors would be cool! With the heat rising, it would efficiently heat the entire cab. For some homes radiant flooring is more energy efficient than heat pumps, I am not sure if that would be the case but if you could add range by adding radiant...

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

I wanted to add onto my initial list with some Rivian items I think are super cool. - Hidden items (portable speaker, flashlight) - Air compressor in bed that displays PSI (SO cool) - Storage solutions (gear tunnel, frunk) - Tank turn (has not come out yet, but SM could beat them to the punch!)...

    Scout Quality

I was not sure which forum was best to post this, this but here is as good a place as any... https://www.thedrive.com/news/rivian-r1t-fender-bender-turns-into-42000-repair-bill I was reading that a minor fender-bender cost $42,000 to fix on a Rivian R1T. This is insane, to put it lightly. The...

    2 Door

This two-door/four-door debacle will last until SM decides to make a 2-door. And they should, a scout was a 2-door vehicle, and buyers should have the option for two-door in the future once technology improves. I was talking with my dad this weekend, and he seems pretty irritated that a 2-door...

Instead of separate box for pickup

Wow that is way less than I would have guessed!

    What Are You Driving Now?

Driving a 2013 Ford Taurus. Last year at this time I had a 1984 F250 Diesel 4x4 for setting up my trail cams, sold that this summer so all I had was the Taurus to set the cams this weekend. Really looking forward to a scout!

Silly ideas sometimes inspire good ones, let's hear yours

I know Scout Motors cannot be called International Harvester, since Case owns the IH name. But, if SM decides to offer trims, it would be cool to have an "International" trim or a "Harvester" trim. Then they could put the trim name on the tailgate next to the SM logo, so it would still say...

    Interior space

In terms of interior space, I hope they mostly get the bed are behind the rear seats right. But something else I was thinking about this week that I really hope is nailed by SM... I hate the windows on my Ford Taurus. The base of the window is so high, it is very uncomfortable to put my arm on...

Why do you like to go off-road?

When I was a kid, I grew up in my dad's 9 scouts on the trails, hill climbing, etc. We were in a local club, and everyone had scouts. Part of what made that fun was my dad was building scouts for off-roading, with no other purpose. It was about adding lockers, limited slips, re-gearing, adding...

The local club in our area is Just Internationals. They have a Facebook page, and an event every year called the Binder Bash.

    Competitive Warranty

Yes the CNA warranty is difficult to get anything processed with. My front-end work last year took a lot of back-and-forth to convince them to pay out Perhaps it would be best if this were not a third-party process, and SM had a warranty/claims department for situations like this? I am proposing...
