  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Please make sure 1st edition vehicles work

looks like I am in line after you @J Alynn .....by only two days. 😢😂.

    Plug Type

This did not age well. I change my guess to NACS (aka Tesla). 😂

    Manual Transmission

So what you are saying is it is complicated? :) Not everyone will be happy no matter what is decided and I agree fully on pick a segment and do it well. Hopefully that lands where I might like it to be. If not, there will be other options.

    Manual Transmission

Funniest thing I have read this week. I couldn't agree more.

    Plug Type

You are knowledgable, so you know that it is as much about efficiency, as total battery size considering a constant daily commute. The underlying assumption is that larger vehicle will be less efficient, thus require more battery to go a fixed distance vs a smaller more efficient car. I am...

    EV focused suggestions

Some really good thoughts. Re: Haptic controls. Many owners of VWs (including myself) with Haptic will say the steering wheel haptic are really pretty good. Haptic Radio, climate control, not so much. Takes some time to adjust to the change though. I don't wear gloves when driving even...

    Daily Driver Comforts

Having an ID.4 with the Drive selection ("Shifter") on the column is something I thought I would not like, but turns out it is a great location. Putting it in the center console is wasting space for that could be repurposed for improved ergonomics. Doing things like we are used to gets us...

    Tailgate and/or Tailgating

Likely, more than one will end up drunk with a cooler option in the frunk. ;)😂

    Factory Location

My opinion on this topic (which btw is probably not worth much) is that Foxconn will assemble them in Lordstown. Lead time on a greenfield facility seems unlikely with a goal of deliveries in 2026.

    Rims and Tires

Tire requirements / performances are are defined by the vehicle manufacturer, not the tire supplier.

Don't be offended by any statement I may make about how ridiculous the Hummer EV is. ;-)

Powertrain Options? Weight vs. Range Concerns?

I would like to see weight below 5500 lbs with realistic useable range of 230 miles (70 mph @ 70 deg F). I pulled together some numbers from various sources comparing the Rivian, F150 Lightning and Hummer EV. Some of the numbers may not match exactly what you might find, as the...

    Daily Driver Comforts

This thread makes it clear how wide the range of potential buyers is. We have those that saying it must be simple and able to tackle notable off-road trails while also here we debate interior noise cancelling capabilities. lol. Trying to do all of these things is how we end up with...

    Buttons vs screens

My thought on HVAC A Switch / button that that toggles Climate control system On and Off. When switched on, the main touch screen interface would automatically go to the HVAC controls and stay on for a preset amount of time before returning to whatever screen was previously displayed. There...

    Buttons vs screens

I want to like voice commands, however I find myself using very few mostly because of not remembering remember the specific combination of words to get the desired outcome. The ID.4 has a very few simple ones that I use like "I'm Cold" : Turns up HVAC Temp "I'm Hot" : Turns Down HAVC Temp...
