  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Tailgate and/or Tailgating

Now that we are actually IN tailgating season, I think it’s a great time to get feedback. I have taken my ‘79 to 2 college games this fall so far for tailgating. First thing is that everyone LOVES the Scout:) even the owner of the new bronco in the pic next to me…first thing he said was he...

Scout Motors - who are your competitors?

This one took me by surprise; it feels like Toyota ripped off some of the new Scout appeal and pricepoint. Is it just me, or does the profile look almost exactly like the Scout renderings? And a “1958” model - are they trying to say they were first to suv? That’s bs and we know it. My fear...

    Do you enjoy going topless

Topless is a must! Agree with Bodie who nailed it, but I do really like the lift back window on my Scout II - yes, it would be easier to remove hardtop without it but I love using it to throw things in the back quickly.

cars.com ad seems to think a Scout is the perfect image of “4x4”

Cars.com Off-Road - where to next? Just saw this ad over coffee and GMA this morning. Clearly their marketing team thinks a Scout is the perfect image to define “4x4”. A little encouragement I think that bringing the Scout back is a great move. Keep up the good work at Scout Motors!!

    Open air utility is compelling

And…another example of use after a graduation party this weekend; 3x8 person tables; 3 hightop tables, and 24 folding chairs (plus one ratchet strap over the top to hold everything in just fine). And a very nice 30min ride with my wife to return them on a beautiful day. Great way to “run errands”:)

    Open air utility is compelling

Just pointing out that the utility on my ‘79 is pretty awesome. I flip the booted soft top to the front, flip the rear seat up, and i have great cargo for weekend transfer station runs - all very easy with the top off, and an enjoyable ride to boot! Easy cleanup after, and yes I prefer a real...

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

The trunk space on the Scout II is just perfect, dimensionally. You just can’t do this on today’s Jeep or Bronco. And yes I love the idea of a real tailgate on the new Scout:)

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

Like the Rivian look overall but cant stand the nose/headlights. Dont like how the Jeep 4 door or Bronco doesnt feel like you have the top off when you have the top off (I adore my Scout II with no top) Trunk/cargo space - I honesty think the Scout II is perfect on this point - not too little...

    Wifes Car 😕

My wife absolutely loves riding in my ‘79 Scout II. But only with the top off:). There’s just a pure joy about it, and she gets it. And it’s our go to for nearly all outings within 30miles of home from April-November so long as its not raining. She doesn’t want an old scout for herself, but...
