  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra's Controller

I am a volunteer firefighter and in my car I have a Fenix lighting and siren controller. This is nice for me as I can run blues like most but also Red and a siren as the DC. But what brings me to this topic, is the controller in all reality is a simple setup that allows for aftermarket single...

The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

I stalk the page most of the time, but I was excited to see the ground breaking and can't wait to get some good renderings and details. Keep up the great work and congratulations.

    Learn from the Bronco

I really, really like the look of the new two door Bronco! So much like an early Scout 80/800. They are totally under powered and really poor MPG for all the progress we have made. I have an 07 Toyota FJ Cruiser that is close enough that it makes no sense to swap vehicles. If you can bring...

    New Old Blends

The original is iconic but limited functionality. The one with what appears to be two tablets is very far away. The one with a tablet screen also have digital round gauges that have selectable screens and is a good in between. I don’t have a car comparison but if the modern Scout can blend...

    Things to Avoid

My wife's Honda Accord has a feature that tells me I need a break... it is the worst thing ever! I can be focused on the road and get the steering wheel shook. It hates interstate lane changes. I can watch a video on my cell in my lap and it says I am driving great. Don't put that junk in...

    A Tall Order

@Jamie@ScoutMotors - Thanks. I know you all have committed to an affordable base and I really love that! I also know that you all have to pay the bills. I think having the ability to expand like you said. Who knows what 2 years will bring, but I really hope it will be awesome. FYI, I have...

    Manual Transmission

Exactly, and part of how I was trying to say it is "it is for sure do-able but if it should be done due to cost/practicality etc..." I would love a manual trans personally but I won't cry if it doesn't happen.

    New Old Blends

Thanks man, I am a pastor full time so I got a lot into this page until the Christmas crunch got me and I'm catching up... maybe a I got too excited

    A Tall Order

Rustic_father, I don't know that they will be going after the LL Bean or Bass Pro crowds. Honestly, look at New Legend 4x4's and most of the other Resto-mod shops. Yeah, their best content comes from rugged originals but they sell $100-200+K vehicles. We may be looking at the Filson, Iron &...

    New Old Blends

I want to suggest a blending option. What would it take to offer some manual style features while making a great EV Scout? 1) Rear tailgate like the 800 with mechanical bar for opening 2) Wingwindows - I know I'm likely dreaming here but dang are those iconic and I still love mine. 3) Front...

    Manual Transmission

I am in the camp of them doing this one right... you can do it right as a competitor to the Rivian and really to $70K+ cars (really $90K+) or you can do it as something unique. Do whatever one of those you are going to do the best it can be done. Unique could be a standard transmission. You...

    Scout Quality

As a current Scout 800 owner I want to remind everyone that our old Scouts are also not the tanks everyone says they are. They were known to rust fast, the rugged off-road ones have been modified (sometimes heavily with mostly a new chassis and drivetrain). The engines are swapped out quickly...

    Buttons vs screens

I keep thinking about retro modern as I think about this Scout. I think we still need some tactile switches or buttons but I also think that if you did the infotainment center well, then minimizing those switches and buttons like many of us do with our 800s when we clean up the trim piece could...
