  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Scout Color Poll #1

I am partial to 1980 Copper. Chevy Orange is fairly close Yellow is also good! Interesting factoid about the Winter White color. I had the top painted Winter White on Sydney. The painter told me he almost didn't follow the recipe for Winter White because he thought he would add too much...

On this day 125 years ago

The first gasoline-engine automobile was sold in the United States. I was bored a few nights ago and Googled “What were people saying about the first automobiles?” I found an article by Alexander Winton, the first person to sell an automobile in the United States, in The Saturday Evening Post...

    Canoo Lifestyle Vehicle

The April 2023 Motor Trend magazine has an article on the Canoo Lifestyle Vehicle. Here is the link to the Canoo website. While the shape is reminiscent of 1960s & 70's vans, there are a number of unique features. No, I do not want the new Scout to copy this design and I am not advocating...

    IH Scout & All Truck Nationals - June 9 - 11, 2023

Mary has a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn in Fairborn, OH. It is about 25 minutes from the show grounds because there are no hotels large enough for all of us any closer. If you think you may go please book your rooms, if we fill the amount of rooms early we may be able to add more but that...

    Scout Design Team Feedback V1

Not in a particular order. 1. Front seats need to be chair-like or truck seats, not 5 inches off the floor. My old bones do not like to be stretched out, prefer to be like sitting on a chair at a table. 2. Tailgate/liftgate like the Scout II 3. Sunroof/moonroof - Maybe all glass like the RAM...

Rivian MTGarage article in latest Motortrend

The author makes no mention of using the truck power for anything while at the campground, so I assume they did not do anything with the truck while there. Quoting the author, "My bigger worry was losing range while we slept, as we've noticed the R1T sheds a couple of miles overnight, even in...

There is an interesting article in the MT Garage section of the latest Motrotrend magazine (February 2023). This is the section where Motortrend employees have a vehicle for a year and report on performance/issues, etc. Scott Evans took the Rivian R1T on a camping trip, 218 miles round trip...
