  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

My Traveler was able to haul a full tailgate setup plus 4 people to the UNC game this past year! Even brought the film camera to the game. But them setting up shop outside Columbia puts them square in Gamecock territory.

Comment by 'Amp831' in item '1978 Scout II Traveler'

Bunch of updates since last year on the Traveler! It made the move from Atlanta to Raleigh, it got a new ignition system (fresh pertronix and prestolite distributor) and fuel delivery (Holley Sniper). It also got the ammeter deleted and engine bay wiring cleaned up. The rear end had a leak so...

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

I always thought it was cool the first gen CRVs had a picnic table, so something like that would be a cool option. I've found that always is something that takes up a decent amount of space when packing. I love the other suggestion of the split tailgate/liftgate. That was one of the best mods I...

Looking for Scouts in the South Carolina Area

I'm now in Raleigh but very used to that ride on I-20, so in the future would be happy to try and plan to attend an event! The SEBA and Southern Scouts pages on FB will be good active groups for that area too.

Scout Motors Selects South Carolina for Production Site

Some of those body lines on the SUV visible look great! Also this is great for the SC auto industry. Lot of talent in that state with BMW, Volvo, and many many suppliers in the Greenville area and more. Columbia is tough as a Clemson grad but still happy to see it in SC.

Scout CEO searching for a Scout

I feel like a regular Scout II is going to be most popular but I also suggest Travelers (and terras) as the longer wheelbase offers a few advantages in improved ride and the extra space is really nice. Prices are usually a little tamer on the Travelers. A Midas Traveler would be the ideal find.

Awesome! We've had some rumblings to try and organize a meet on FB but no concrete progress. Ales & Overlands are usually a good event to try and get people to and can reach out to some of the people in the area as well.

My wife has a 2018 grand cherokee and I drive my '78 Traveler every chance I get. I travel for work or work from home so it has worked out, hoping to hold out till the Scout is released to have to buy another form of transportation. I previously had an 02 TJ, a 2015 GMC Canyon, 2003 GMC Yukon...
